Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and Almuhajir Studio, the operator of Almuhajir. By creating an account or using the app, you accept them. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Community guidelines.
1. What Almuhajir is
Almuhajir is a platform where African Muslim scholars share Islamic knowledge through their own Schools: posts, audio lessons, clips, books, and answers to questions. Each School is run by its scholar (the Sheikh) and his media team.
2. Who can use it
- You must be at least 13 years old.
- If you are under 18, you need the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms on your behalf.
- You can browse some content as a guest. To follow scholars, save items, download or ask questions, you need an account.
3. Your account
- Give accurate information, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else or pretend to be someone you are not.
4. Knowledge and answers
Content on Almuhajir comes from the scholars and their Schools. Each scholar is responsible for his own teaching and answers, which reflect his knowledge and judgement. Almuhajir checks who runs each School, but does not issue religious rulings of its own. An answer given to one person's situation may not fit yours; for serious personal matters, consult a scholar directly.
5. Questions and other things you send
- You keep ownership of what you write. You allow us and the scholar's School to store it, and to publish an answered question in public Q&A without your name and with identifying details removed.
- A scholar is not obliged to answer every question, and answers can take time.
- Everything you send must follow the Community guidelines.
6. Scholars' content
- Lessons, audio, clips, books and posts belong to the scholars, their Schools or their licensors.
- You may use them for your own personal learning, including listening to or reading downloads offline in the app.
- Do not copy, sell, re-upload or publish them elsewhere without the permission of the School, unless the law allows it.
7. For Schools and media teams
If you publish for a School, you confirm that you have the right to publish what you upload, and you allow Almuhajir to host, process (for example, to make audio stream well) and show it to users. The School can remove its content at any time. Membership of a School's team, and its Premium access, last while the School keeps you on its team.
8. Premium
Scholars and their media teams have Premium access through their School at no cost. Paid plans for other users are not yet offered; if we introduce them, their price and terms will be shown clearly before you pay, and purchases will be handled through the App Store or Google Play.
9. Things you must not do
- Break the law, or the Community guidelines.
- Try to get into accounts, data or parts of the service you are not allowed to use, or interfere with how it works.
- Scrape, copy or collect content or user data in bulk by automated means.
- Use Almuhajir to advertise, spam, or collect other people's personal information.
10. Suspension and ending
We may hide content, or suspend or close an account, that breaks these terms or the guidelines, or puts others at risk. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond. You may stop using Almuhajir and delete your account at any time.
11. The service as it is
We work to keep Almuhajir available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and cannot promise it will always be uninterrupted or free of errors. Features may change as the app grows.
12. Limits on our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for how you act on content published by Schools or other users. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post changes here and update the date above; if a change is significant, we will tell you in the app first. If you keep using Almuhajir after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
