Community guidelines
A respectful place to learn
Almuhajir exists to carry knowledge from scholars to the people who seek it. These guidelines apply to everything shared on Almuhajir: questions, posts, audio, clips, books and reports.
Show respect
- Speak to and about scholars, their teams and other users with good manners, even when you disagree.
- No insults, mockery, threats or harassment of anyone.
- No content that stirs up hatred or violence against any person or group, including on the basis of tribe, ethnicity, nationality, school of thought or religion.
Ask sincerely
- Ask questions to learn. Do not send questions to provoke, trap or mock a scholar.
- Keep other people's private details out of your questions. Describe a situation without names, phone numbers or addresses.
- Do not send the same question again and again.
Be truthful
- Do not pretend to be a scholar, a member of a School's team, or anyone else.
- Do not attribute words to a scholar that he did not say, or present edited content in a way that changes its meaning.
For Schools and media teams
- Publish only content your School has the right to share.
- Label content clearly, and keep titles honest about what a lesson contains.
- Before publishing an answer, remove anything that could identify the person who asked.
- No advertising or fundraising appeals that are not approved by Almuhajir.
Not allowed anywhere
- Sexual or graphic violent content.
- Encouraging or praising terrorism, violence or self-harm.
- Spam, scams, chain messages, or links to harmful sites.
- Anything illegal under Nigerian law.
Reporting
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, use Report on the post or video in the app, or email [email protected]. Reports are reviewed by the Almuhajir team. The person you report is not told who reported them.
What we do
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove or hide content, warn the account, suspend it for a time, or close it. Content that puts someone in danger is removed at once, and may be reported to the authorities.
